Trading Platforms

EasyMarkets has 2 types of trading platform available. They include the popular MetaTrader 4 (MT4) platform and their own proprietary web based platform.

easyMarkets Review

  • EasyMarkets Web Based Platform

This platform is designed for simplicity and actually resembles a stripped down order execution type platform. The platform includes unique features not found on other platforms such as the “Trade Controller” and “Inside Viewer” and the ability to “freeze” quotes. The “freeze” quote feature lets you lock in the quoted price for a few seconds while giving you a small window of time to decide as to whether you want to enter into the trade or not.

  • MetaTrader 4

Widely used by traders from all over the world, the MT4 platform is considered to be the industry standard platform for trading spot forex and CFDs. Robust and versatile, the MT4 platform comes with a wide array of tools that are designed to enhance one’s trading ability. It also has a built in programming language which tech savvy traders can use to develop their own expert advisors tailored to their trading strategies.

Apart from the 2 different types of platforms mentioned above, EasyMarkets also provide traders with a choice of trading apps that are smartphones and mobile device enabled. Supported OS include iOS, Android, Window and Blackberry.

Account Types

There are 3 types of trading account provided by EasyMarkets, a standard account, a premium account and a VIP account. There is no minimum deposit requirement for a standard trading account. However, a minimum initial deposit of $2000 and $20,000 is required for the premium and VIP account respectively. An Islamic account is also provided for those traders who want to trade the markets according to Islamic Syariah principles.

A lifelong demo account is also available for those who want to try out the trading platform before they decide to commit any real money.

Commission & Spreads

Although the spreads offered by EasyMarkets may not be the most competitive in the industry, the broker has stuck to its core principle of keeping things simple and transparent. As such the spreads offered by EasyMarkets are fixed. This helps to provide a level of certainty especially when the markets are volatile.  As for the minimum spreads payable, they depend on the type of trading account which the trader is trading from. For the standard account, the minimum spreads starts from as low as 3 pips while the premium account holders enjoy more competitive rates starting from 2.5 pips. The most competitive spreads are those trading with a VIP account. For them, the minimum spreads start from as low as 1.8 pips.

Customer Support

For customer support, traders are serviced from 3 physical locations depending on which location they are trading from. For the Asia Pacific region, traders are serviced by the support office located in Sydney Australia. European based clients are supported by the office in Limassol Cyprus. For other international clients, they are serviced by the support office located on Ajeltake Island, Majuro, Marshall Islands. The methods of communication provided by EasyMarkets include email, live chat and the telephone.

Conclusion

In terms of transparency and simplicity, EasyMarkets scored high on our scorecard. As mentioned earlier while their spreads might not be the most competitive, this is because EasyMarkets has chosen to be forthwith and transparent in their dealing with their clients. Their educational section is also quite comprehensive making them an ideal for new traders to sign up with.
